Young Artists Collective in cahoots with High Tide Theatrical is searching for a group of performers to join the cast of Red Hot & Backwards.
Red Hot & Backwards is a celebration of LGBTQ+ stories told through the great songs of musical theater, all to benefit our local non-profit APO: AIDS Project of the Ozarks. A two-act extravaganza, the show features local talent performing your favorite show tunes in ways you have never seen before.
First, gender norms are thrown out the window through stellar vocals and dance numbers, demonstrating that gender does not matter but love does. Act 1 is an ode to the Young Artists Collective’s (formerly CB Productions) past Backwards events with director Carolyn Grace Billingsley set to take on the project. After intermission, we hit the ground running as we take it all off for a good cause.
Inspired by annual events “Broadway Backwards” and “Broadway Bares” held by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the philanthropic heart of Broadway.
CASTING CONSIDERATIONS AND CAST RESPONSIBILITIES:
You must be 18 years old to audition for the show. Auditioners may select on the audition form if they would like to be considered for both acts, or just one of the other. All performers will be held to crowdfunding goals that will be discussed in detail upon casting.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
Please prepare a 32 – bar cut of a song in the style of musical theatre. Bring sheet music clearly marked and in the correct key. No tracks, please. An accompanist will be provided.

EXPERIENCED DANCERS are invited to attend a dance audition on January 14, 2024 at 4:00 PM.
REHEARSALS will be in the evenings of February 4-17, 2024.
THE PERFORMANCE will be held February 18, 2024.
Please be prepared to list all possible conflicts on your audition form.
